Production Blog (Music)

Today, I looked for possible music choices that my group could use in our project. The first thing that I had to do was to make sure the music was royalty free. One website that I found pretty useful was shutter stock.com. This website allowed me to look up any genre of music. It gave me a large variety to pick from. The first type of music I looked up was suspenseful music. The music I found sounded really cool, and I thought it could go really well with our project. Another website that I found could be useful was stock.adobe.com. This website had all different types of genres that you could choose from. I looked under the suspense genre, and I was able to find some really cool music/sound effects that I would definitely consider putting in our film. Since my project is a thriller movie, one of my goals was to include good, suspenseful music. I feel that it could add a lot of effects towards the audience, and help to create a sense of "being on edge." I made sure to show my group members the websites I found, and showed them any specific sounds that I liked. Both websites that I found seemed very simple and easy to use. While I was listening to the different sound choices from the websites, it made be feel a sense of suspense and fright. This is a good thing though, because if I feel frightened, the audience should feel frightened too. Searching for different music was exciting because I am looking forward to putting it into the film. It will be a really fun process to see our movie with all of the sound effects and music. Music does play an important role is movies, especially thriller, because it helps add the the scary mood of the film. I did not decide on a specific sound that I wanted to use in the film, but I will definitely keep looking. I will also make sure that I will discuss with my group members what music they like the best. I am very excited to see how the project turns out.
