  1.       How does your product use or challenge conventions AND how does it represent social groups or issues?  My commercial was showing the products of Crayola. The mood that my group and I wanted to create was a happy and playful mood to be similar to the ones that are usually in the actual Crayola commercial. In most Crayola commercials, it often includes kids using whatever product that they are trying to promote. They usually use bright, colorful backgrounds and fun, upbeat music. There where common conventions shown throughout the commercial, especially in the opening scene, which was where we showed the different artwork that was created, and the ending scene contained the Crayola prop, which was clearly shown to the audience. During the editing phase, I wanted to make sure that the scenes contained bright color, because most commercials that are aimed towards kids often include bright and playful colors to help attract them to the product. Commercial blog

The process of the commercial blog was really fun. Fortunately, I got along well with my group, and we all worked together to create our commercial. I thought that our commercial turned out really well, and I am happy with the finished product. I feel like our idea turned out a bit different than the actual commercial. For example, in the opening scene, we planned on having our hands hit down on the pictures, but we found it easier to just show the pictures instead. But other than that, the commercial turned out really well, and I had a really fun time filming it. During the filming of our commercial, I learned different techniques to filming and editing too. For a couple of the scenes, I had to act, so it also helped me be a better actor. I learned a lot from this project, and it was fun.

Adding touch ups to the commercial

During this editing period, I watched the commercial again to see if we had any mistakes, or ice wee needed anything to make it better. Because me and my group did the majority of the editing last class, there was not much for us to edit. The only thing that I have left to do is add the music into the commercial. My group was pretty ahead of everything, so I used this period to help my group mate with her chemistry homework. I also made sure that I was all caught up with all my media work. The only thing that I had to do was this blog, so I spent a couple minutes doing that. I have found that AICE Media has been a fun class, and I have learned about filming, and different techniques. It was fun filming the commercial, and I am really excited to see how it turns out. I also hope that I will be able to see my other classmates videos, because I want to see everyone else's ideas. One thing that I like about my commercial is that I feel like it is a unique idea. I have seen a lot of pe

Today I edited the commercial

During this editing period, I worked with my group mates to put together our commercial. Before we started editing, I had to to finish filming the opening scene for the commercial. This scene included the 4 kid pictures that we drew from the last class, and then we filmed them at different times to kind of make it similar to a stop motion shot. After I filmed this shot, I sent any videos that where recorded from my phone to the editor of the group. Unfortunately, my groups editor was absent today, so my other group member did most of the editing. While she was editing, I made sure to help her with any of the effects or specific filming techniques. After all the videos where put together, I watched the whole video to see if it needed any changes, or anything to make it better. After watching the video, I sent it to our original editor so she could fix anything. The original editor of the group enjoys doing things technology related things and editing videos, so hopefully she will fix o

Filming more of the commercial

For the second day of filming, we shot any of the scenes that we where unable to finish from the last class. I had the prop that we forgot form the last class so I shot the scenes that required that prop to be shown. My prop was a 100 pack of Crayola colored pencils, so we made sure to use the colored pencils in different ways. I first started by doing the scene where I grab the box of colored pencils, and take it off the desk. This scene will be shown as a split screen, and the other screen will be my group mate doing the same action that I did while being on a split screen. After we filmed that scene, we shot the scene where I put the colored pencils in my bag. For this scene we wanted to make sure that the background was in a school like atmosphere, so we filmed on a desk chair, behind a bright colored wall. I also made sure that this scene contrasted with my group mates scene that shows the same thing. I then used the colored pencils to create kid-like pictures that will be shown
