Production Blog: Preparing for Macie

Image
Today, I went over to Julie's house. We discussed costumes and the overall plan for our film to ensure we were on the same page. As a teenage girl, I have a lot of teenage girl clothes which help when picking out the costume for Macie. For the first day, Macie wants to make a good impression, therefore her outfit matters a lot. Julie and I discussed what kind of aesthetic Macie is going to have. We also picked a personality for her. The reason Courtney is intimidated by Macie is because she is naturally beautiful. So, in order to portray this, Julie and I decided to have Macie wear a cute outfit for her first day. Her outfit will be trendy and cute which will bother Courtney. Therefore, we chose to have her wear Pacsun light wash jeans and a fitted shirt. I will have my hair done nice. My mom will help me curl my hair both days. And I am sure Julies mom will help her do the same. Courtneys costume will be similar to Macies, but she will be wearing a Hot pink shirt. The film will

Production Blog: Putting Together My Costumes

One of the first things that I thought of when putting together the ideas of our film were the costumes. Since I will be playing a "mean girl," it is very important that the viewers know that I am playing that type of character. When I thinking of what a typical popular, mean girl wears, I usually think of hot pink. I feel like in movies where there is a mean girl in the film, they usually wear pink, sometimes tighter clothing, and their hair is usually down and straight. Most mean girls also have blonde hair. I don't have the blondest hair, but I think it will be good enough for the movie, and it is also not necessary that I have blonde hair. When me and my group member where planning the idea of our film, the outfit I was wearing that day was actually a great example, which kind of sparked some our ideas for the film. I was wearing jeans with a bright, hot pink top with my hair in a half up half down hairstyle. This helped us come up with really good ideas on what we c

Production Blog: Filming

When starting the filming process, Julie and I had to figure out how we can get our film done on time. We both have busy schedules, so it's important to plan out how we can film without having to interfere with any of our activities. I have dance and work after school, so I wouldn't be able to work on our film after school, so my best bet is to film on the weekend. A good idea that I came up with is to film each of our individual parts at our own free time. Luckily, most of the short film can be done individually, and only a few of the scenes will need to filmed together. Julie is going to be filming her parts at her house, and I will film my parts at my house. The only part that I will need to film is the scene where Courtney is at her house and is putting together a plan on how she will embarrass Macie. She will then eventually find an embarrassing picture of her, which she will then use to send out to the whole school. I will probably ask my mom to record these scenes for m
