Planning Blog for first scene

Today, we are planning out our schedule for the first scene in our short film. The first scene of our film takes place at Macie’s house. We decided to shoot this scene at Camille’s house because it has a better set up for what we are looking for. When planning out what day we want to film, we both decided that it would be best to do it over the weekend since we are both very busy during the week. Julie will come over to my house around 11-12 pm to film the first scene. In this scene, Macie is getting ready for school. She will be “waking up” in my bed and getting ready for the day. Some of the props for this scene include a hairbrush, makeup, and for her costume, it will most likely be a plain shirt with either jeans or leggings to make it similar to what most highschoolers wear. Macie’s mom is also in this scene, so my mom will be able to play this part. If we have extra time, we may even film some of the other shots that may taken at my house. If something ends up changing, or just out of convenience, we can also film at Julies house. Julie’s friend will be playing Jacob, so if its easier for him to do it at Julie’s house, that will also work out. Luckily all of our settings in our film won’t be too difficult to find/film at. Hopefully our plan will go smoothly, and our scenes come out just like how we expected them to.

Production Blog: filming my scene

 Today, I am going to be filming the scenes with only me in them. Julie came over after school to help me film some of the parts. When I got home, I went to go change into my clothes for the scenes. I was wearing a bright pink top with jeans. we started off with me walking through the door of my house. I went outside the door and Julie filmed me walking in. During this scene, it was only me so you I didn't have much dialogue. Julie and I filmed the rest of the shots that I need for the scene by myself. Since I didn't have much dialogue, I had to make sure that my facial expressions where good so that the audience could still have an idea about what was going on in the scene. Filming these scenes weren't too hard. I would say the toughest part of this process was getting the right angle.
