During the filming process I worked with my group partners to start our commercial. I first thought about different locations to shoot our scenes that we needed to shoot outside. We started off at the entrance of the school to shoot the scene that required us to be walking together into school. After we shot that scene, we looked around the school to see if we could find a location that had better lighting, or just looked better on camera. Fortunately, on our second shot, we ended up with the perfect shot for our fourth scene. After shooting outside, we went to shoot the scenes that required us to be in a classroom. For the commercial, I needed different sets of colored pencils so each of the characters had a different product/box. Unfortunately, we did not have the second prop, so I was unable to shoot my scene that required me to use that prop. I told the editor of my group to make the shots a bit brighter to be similar to the bright and colorful commercials that Crayola usually has. Some things that we can use to make to the scenes brighter is to turn up the saturation. One thing that was a bit difficult when filming the outside scenes was that I made sure that there where no school logos in the videos. In one of the scenes where we had a couple other school supplies laying out, I also made sure that the logos of the materials where not shown. I also added any other Crayola products, such as markers and twistables, so the scene will promote more of their materials. After we finished all of the scenes that we where able to shoot, we looked over the videos and made sure we liked each one. Another thing that I did was suggest filming the scenes at different angles, so at the end we can pick which one we liked the best. I think that we did a really good job, and hopefully the commercial will turn out well. Some of my goals for the commercial is for it to be a very happy and energetic, and match the aesthetic that Crayola usually makes their commercials. The next filming class, I will hopefully be able to shoot my scenes, and then we should be able to edit the commercial. Then we can make any other touch ups, and watch the final product. So far the commercial looks really good, and I hope it will look even better when it is done.
