AICE Media Group Blog

 When creating my group for media, I wanted to choose people that I know would get the work done, and also people that enjoy being around. This year I am going to be working with Julie Haslbeck. I have known Julie for about a year now, and she is also a good friend of mine. Julie and I became friends because we where in the same chemistry class last year. We got very close, and she asked me if I wanted to be her partner. There have been many times that I have been in a project where I have had to do all the work, and also when any of my ideas where not really accepted. I feel like it is very important that you work with a group that you can trust and count on. Working with friends is always fun, but that doesn't always mean that they are good group project members. A good group are people that you work well with, but can also count on to do the work. Im sure that all my group members will get their work done on time, and I hope that we will come up with a good idea for our final task. Last year in Media, our final task was a thriller movie. Doing a thriller movie was fun, and it allowed us to get creative with our ideas. For the final task this year, it could be fun to do another thriller, however, it can also be fun to try out a new genre. Doing a different genre can also help increase my knowledge on different genres in media. I hope that working with a group will help me know what it is like to film with other people, rather than myself. This will also help me know that if my group members will be people I will want to work with in future projects. It is nice to know what it is like to work with group members to know if that is something you enjoy. And if you do not like it, that can tell you that you may be better off working on future projects by yourself. Hopefully I will have a good experience with my group member, and I hope I learn a lot from this project, and gain more experience with working with film.  I also hope I will learn more from being in AICE Media for a second year. I am also excited to work on a different type of project, and I hope to will be a fun experience.

  How do your products represent social groups or issues? Our short film focuses on some of the troubles that highschoolers go through. In this case, the new girl, Macie, attends, once again, another new school. Being “the new kid” is already hard enough, but to make it even harder on Macie, Courtney makes her first couple of days at school even more difficult. Courtney gets jealous that her crush, Jacob, likes Macie more then her. This causes her to send out an embarrassing photo of Macie to the whole school, in hopes to get Jacob to lose interest in Macie. However, this makes Jacob see what kind of a person Courtney truly is. Courtney decides that she must apologize and make up for what she’s done to Macie. The short film captures some of the emotions that many teens and highschoolers often go through. Production Blog: filming my scene

 Today, I am going to be filming the scenes with only me in them. Julie came over after school to help me film some of the parts. When I got home, I went to go change into my clothes for the scenes. I was wearing a bright pink top with jeans. we started off with me walking through the door of my house. I went outside the door and Julie filmed me walking in. During this scene, it was only me so you I didn't have much dialogue. Julie and I filmed the rest of the shots that I need for the scene by myself. Since I didn't have much dialogue, I had to make sure that my facial expressions where good so that the audience could still have an idea about what was going on in the scene. Filming these scenes weren't too hard. I would say the toughest part of this process was getting the right angle.
